This policy explains what personal data Katampe Estates Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Masjid (“the masjid”, “we”) collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted. We process personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

What we collect and why

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels or website analytics. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
Who else sees it
- Our form provider. Messages sent through the contact form are delivered to our inbox by Web3Forms, which processes the message on our behalf in order to email it to us.
- Google Maps. The map on our contact page does not load until you click to load it. Until you do, Google receives nothing about your visit. If you load it, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies under its own privacy policy.
- Our hosting provider, which stores standard server logs needed to serve the website securely.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else except where we are legally required to.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you did so;
- complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
How to have your data deleted
Email info@keokm.org with the subject “Data deletion request”, telling us the name and email address you used. We will delete your data and confirm in writing within 30 days. You do not need to give a reason. The only exception is donation records we are required to retain for financial accountability, which we will tell you about if it applies.
Keeping it safe
The website is served over an encrypted connection. Messages and registration details are kept in accounts controlled by the masjid office and accessible only to those who need them. If a breach ever occurred that put your rights at risk, we would notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Children
Details about a child are given to us by a parent or guardian at registration. We keep them only to run the class, and never publish a child's name or photograph without written permission from their parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be announced in the masjid.
